Tiffany Sebastianpillai MTA, MT-BC, MMT, RP (Qualifying)
Psychotherapist & Music Therapist
I am a Music Therapist with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists.
In sessions, my goal is to hear you, help you to identify the patterns of experiences that have shaped you, and to organize your thoughts and feelings in a way that strengthens you. I work to provide you with a safe space that is compassionate while empowering you with the courage you need to delve deeper into your healing process.
I use a combination of trauma-informed, resource-oriented, and music-centered approaches while drawing from CBT, and mindfulness techniques.
Given my unique training as a music therapist, I also offer a music-centered approach to psychotherapy that embodies verbal and non-verbal communication. The benefits of music in mental health are vast and there is no requirement for one to be a musician or have musical skills to benefit from music-centered psychotherapy. Music-centered work uses music as a tool to achieve therapy goals and foster growth. Tools used in sessions can include but are not limited to: songwriting, interpreting lyrics, and sharing songs that express what you are going through but maybe can't put into words. My training as a music therapist ensures the safe and ethical use of music in sessions.
Together we can explore:
