Shalini Jain, RP(Q)
Registered Psychotherapist
We seek out therapy for many reasons, but the process of finding a therapist who
is a good fit for us can itself feel overwhelming. I first and foremost offer a safe
space where you can feel heard, seen and understood. My approach to therapy is
relational and collaborative, which means that it is the co-created relationship
between us that is the healing force of therapy. Our sessions draw upon
experiences from the past and bring to light how these get replayed, with or
without our knowing it, in our present ways of thinking, feeling and relating to
others. Together we explore these repetitive patterns that can keep us stuck.
As a psychodynamically trained psychotherapist, and a former social worker and
teacher, I have helped people with many challenges including anxiety,
depression, relational and family conflict, parenting challenges and the ongoing
impacts of trauma, with a special interest in transgenerational, racial and
immigration trauma.
I recognize and respect that each of your experiences are unique and meet you
with openness and curiosity, so that together we may work towards moving you
away from places where you don't want to be and change the stories that you tell
yourselves. I encourage you to take that first step and reach out to discuss the
possibility of working together.
