Specializing in Life transitions, Grief, Loss, Trauma, Parenting Challenges, Identity, Relationships,
Anxiety, Depression, Post Partum, Fertility challenges and more…
Welcome, I am Caitlin and I have over 15 years of experience working as a mental health professional with Individuals, Couples and Families in various settings. As a therapeutic case manager, I worked within the adoption and child welfare arena.
I enjoy connecting with clients on a deep level by identifying core themes and walking alongside, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.
I support clients to make sense of their journey and to understand how their past experiences can influence their present challenges.
I apply a person-centered approach to supporting my clients. My goal is to support you to learn new ways of coping, gain perspective on your life and develop insights that empower you to take the next steps on your path towards healing.
I foster an empathetic, non-judgmental approach and a safe space for you to tell your story. I strive to understand your perspective as the expert in your own life. I focus on your strengths while addressing challenges you are experiencing by drawing upon various therapeutic modalities some of which include narrative therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy and an existential approach. I work within an Attachment Theory and Trauma informed framework. This integrated approach allows me to be flexible in my practice and naturally weave these different modalities into the therapeutic process.
I am aware of systems of oppression, power and privilege and the impact it has upon our lives, health and mental wellbeing. My work is grounded in anti-oppression and anti-racist practice, harm-reduction and diversity, equity, and inclusion models.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation prior to our first therapy session. This provides you with the opportunity to ask me questions and determine if I am the right therapist for you. It is also a time for me to understand your expectations from therapy. Regular sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $150 per session. It is important to me to make therapy more accessible to you regardless of your financial circumstances. I offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions to support people who otherwise may not be able to afford therapy.
In person therapy sessions are available on Friday mornings and virtual sessions throughout the week. Please visit my website for further information www.torontowestpsychotherapy.com
Individual Session: $150
Couples Session: $175
