Allison McColl Brooks, M.A., R.P (Q)
Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy Session: $90 for 1 hour
With clarity and compassion, I will support you in setting and reaching goals, breaking habitual patterns and finding better ways of coping with the pain and stress of life. Most human beings experience emotional suffering and have unwelcome thoughts. We get stuck in the past, worry about the future and have challenges in relationships with family and friends; we doubt ourselves and engage in painful self-criticism. I work with clients on a variety of issues big and small. Some have struggled for years with symptoms of depression, anxiety and low-self esteem while others have experienced a recent change or loss. I practice Mindfulness-based, Compassion-focused Psychotherapy and draw from ACT, DBT, Sensorimotor and Emotion Focused Therapy.
In the "real world" this means:
My training and experience qualify me to practice psychotherapy, but who I am as a human being, my life experience, and my ability to connect with people is what enables me to build successful therapeutic relationships with clients. If you are looking for a therapist who is warm and engaging, humorous and open minded, I might be a good fit for you.

In the "real world" this means:
- Developing greater awareness of how your emotions and thoughts impact your life so you can live with greater ease and intention.
- Setting and reaching goals, not because you’re broken but because you care about yourself.
- Reducing guilt and shame to have greater clarity about what truly matters to you.
- Recognizing and letting go of self-critical, destructive thinking.
- Improving relationships through compassion, connection and clear boundaries.
- Easing symptoms associated with stress, anxiety and depression.
